GREETINGS TO THE ESPERANTO LEAGUE OF NORTH AMERICA

100TH ANNIVERSARY

JULY 18 ‑ 22, 1987

As Mayor of the District of Columbia, I am pleased to extend greetings to the Esperanto League of North America on your 100th anniversary celebration of the International Language Esperanto being held July 18 ‑ 22, 1987.

I would like to take this opportunity to commend all who have worked diligently in preparation for this convention. Your organization can take pride in knowing that this language has been used to promote worldwide friendships. While your guests are here, I hope you will take the opportunity to visit some of the historical monuments and community attractions which make this a magnificient city.

On behalf of the residents of the District of Columbia, I send best wishes for a happy anniversary celebration.

MARION BARRY JR.
MAYOR
DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA
